Reading to baby

It's been said that you should read to your baby, even in the womb. Do you read to your baby? What did you read and how often? I was also thinking this might be a good activity for siblings and the father to do to help create a bond with the baby. What do you think?

  • We've begun reading to the baby all together so she recognizes all of our voices. We try to do it every night. We also read a very short, easy, entertaining book, the same one every night. I read somewhere that repetition makes the baby more likely to remember our voices and associate it with a memory. Did you know babies can have memories? I wonder what makes it so that we don't remember being babies?
  • I knew babies could recognize voices from the womb, which I guess is technically a memory, but I didn't know they could remember words. How cool!
