  • I've decided not to give him baths everyday. I noticed that when he gets a bath his skin gets more dry every time. I try to skip 1-2 days depending on his level of activity.
  • I knew babies could recognize voices from the womb, which I guess is technically a memory, but I didn't know they could remember words. How cool!
  • Babyforum has a great app to help you make your list. Here's the link:
  • I think if you have a system already that's good. Just make sure you both are flexible and realize that while you're recovering you'll need an alternate plan. I'd try to discuss that before the birth, as well as reassessing afterwards and try to a…
  • Congrats! Is this your first child?
  • It seems like this issue only lasted a few months. My baby is now 9 months and doesn't seem to drool nearly as much.
  • I'm in a complicated relationship so taking time off from parenting is something that is really needed but never happens. My baby is young but I think taking a daytrip would be incredibly useful, or even a few date nights every few months.
  • I love this topic because my baby does something new everyday. Today he was just laughing for no reason at all. Just to laugh, have me laugh and maybe keep himself awake while I was trying to put him to sleep. He's 9 months old and its super cute …
  • I can still hand express 9 months in and when I had my pump I could still express milk even after I'd stopped breastfeeding for a little while. However I've never gotten more than an ounce at a time.
  • That sounds like a great product Jenny!
  • I also think it looks like a boy! Let us know when find out!
  • I try to put the kids in bed around 8pm and I try to get to sleep by 10. If the kids go to sleep late. I still try to get a half hour or so alone or in adult company before I go to sleep. I really priorize sleep because I am such a mess without pl…
  • I remember when my oldest daughter was a year old she would spontaneously start teaching yoga to my friends and clients. Even to family. It was really sweet and cute and I miss her being that little. She us turning 10 soon!
  • I remember reading a few articles on screentime for older kids and the consensus was on 1.5-2 hours maximum for each day. I would imagine it would be less for toddlers so one hour seems appropriate to me.
  • I had a manual single pump. I don't remember the name of it. Pumping wasn't very successful so I stopped trying after awhile. Luckily I worked from home and continued to breastfeed exclusively. I could pump some milk but not much.
  • Starfall.com is a great site with pre-k curriculum you can buy as well as free downloads and games. I highly recommend it. I've used it with both of my oldest kids from a young age.
  • I cut all my hair off with my first pregnancy! In the second I let it grow into locks, in the third I had it braided and twisted and wore Head wraps to cover and protect it. If you don't protect it with protective styling it could get matted and a …
  • Thanks for the advice momma. I will definitely try a change in diet. The migraine trick of putting an ice pack on my neck usually works but if I t doesn't I will try putting my hands and feet in warm water too!
  • I think its good to allow them to have some things just for them. With them being so close in age it can cause a lot of conflict if they have to share everything. At least that's what I've seen. Those are very difficult ages where they learn to est…
  • I think my oldest daughter started using one at 7 or 8 months and probably stopped around 14 months, even though she was walking at 10 months.
  • I've read some data about delayed schooling being better for the child, I will try to find it. It is something to say before the age of 7 or so school can actually have a negative effect on the ability to learn.
  • I've noticed a lot of people put their babies in the car to put them to sleep. For me taking them on a walk outside works better.
  • I would put those types of items on ebay or amazon. Consignments shops don't give you a lot back for newer items and with facebook or craigslist you're not likely to attract as many potential buyers.
  • I have sold a few things on ebay. You could also put things on craigslist, facebook or try a local consignment shop. All of this will depend on the type of items you have, how old they are and what condition they are in.
  • Getting a flattering haircut is a great idea. I wouldn't recommend stopping breastfeeding over a temporary hair issue when there's so much you can do with your hair.
  • My baby loves pulling up on things. Especially me. He can't quite stand on his own for more than a couple seconds, but he is very proud of himself when he stands. It's as if he thinks of it as a game.
  • Great tip Caitlin. I spoke too soon, my little one woke up so many times last night and has been crying a lot. I'll look into the pacifier clip.
  • Some people (myself included) have a harder time with chewing. I forget what this condition is called but it's something about the strength of the jaws. You might try giving more blended, pureed and softer foods.
  • This is tough for me. If this is her first pet I would try something easier. Dogs, cats, bunnies, etc. are all very difficult, time consuming, potentially dangerous pets to have at such a young age. You also don't know her maturity level to care …

  • You might try volunteering somewhere first to get your confidence back up and add some experience. After that, you could take a course, but it's probably not necessary. You can then just add in your cover letter that you took a break to work at ho…
  • Hmm. I don't think I've experienced this, but I do remember reading there can be skin issues related to hormones. I think if it's really bothersome I would go see a doctor about it. Do you take long, hot baths or showers? It could be drying out …
  • There are many great organizations, but you can also adopt on your own with an organization. There are website similar to dating sites but for adoption. You can find a few by searching for "adoption matching site".

  • My babies have all started teething very early. People thought I was being paranoid when they were teething at just a few months old, but my midwife confirmed it with at least one of my kids. Now with my baby his two middle teeth on the bottom are…
  • I don't have a lot of interest in royals from any country. I suppose people might feel as if they can tell something about who this public figure will be based on what they see from it's infancy? Also maybe they want to be able to have something t…
  • There's a few things I look at. 1. Moving things with sharp or blocking those edges 2. Making sure large items are very secure and cannot fall over if pulled up on (there are things you can put to make them not slip 3. Putting dangerous chemic…
  • My baby doesn't get a lot of food. Everyday he is basically just having breastmilk. However he does grab at my food a lot and if I'm eating banana or avocado I will give him some. Those are really the only two foods he has had consistently. He…
  • I was just watching a health show today on the television. They recommended to not give cow's milk until the child is after a year old. In my family there is a lot of irritation and sensitivity to cow's milk, so I never have it intentionally and d…
  • We go swimming a fair amount too, and I like to take him out for walks. If he gets upset even sitting outside on the porch calms him down. Other than that we dance, I read to him, he has a few toys he likes and we just let him play games with us. …
  • My babies teeth are not yet in yet, although a couple are starting to pop out. He loves when I brush my teeth though and I make sure to carry him while I'm brushing because he really loves it. I want to start brushing his teeth as a baby so he get…
  • I was thinking of putting him into a class like baby signs or finding another group. He is only 8 months and I don't think it's that important at this age, but soon I want to find something for him to interact with babies around his age and for me …

  • I'm sorry you're suffering with hair loss Caitlin. Are you breastfeeding? I've read that it's very common in breastfeeding, but also it's just really common for some women during pregnancy and after delivery, even if not breastfeeding. It seems t…
  • I haven't gotten a baby passport yet. It is something that bothers me a little because I am accustomed to traveling a lot but I haven't since I was pregnant. I am wanting to start again but I may just wait awhile, due to the stress of it, let alon…
  • Choosing a name has always been very difficult for me. In my family most people were known by nicknames anyway, so I didn't feel like it would be a big deal to name them something we might not be as enthused about later on, but it was still somethi…

  • I actually have raised my children vegetarian even though I am not. Mostly because my oldest couldn't handle many foods and we just got used to it. At first we were strictly vegan, recently I have been feeding them eggs on occasion. While I eat…
  • Baby's birthday is in November. I am not sure what we will do but I am excited to celebrate his birthday. I'm more excited just for him to be a year old!
  • I have 3 and I probably won't have another one. If I did I could only see having one more because I am in my 30's now and even though people have successful pregnancies in their 30's and beyond, I don't prefer to spend much more of my life being pr…
  • There are bed rails that I used to have when my middle child was a baby because to this day she likes to sleep hanging off the side of the bed. It prevents that from happening. I don't have them anymore but when/if she falls off, her bed is very l…
  • Well my youngest is 8 months old and he tries to say a lot. He's not actually saying anything but it sounds like he says "mum-mum", "da-da" and "hey" and "bye" when he's babbling. He started saying "mum-mum" first but he says "da-da" more often. …
  • Each of mine have been very close to the estimated due date. I can imagine it is difficult for people who go days and weeks over their due date, but it is estimated and not exact. It seems best to just try to take it all in and enjoy it and let ba…

  • All my pregnancies have been different. One was easy, one was hard at first but amazing at the end and the other was difficult the whole time. I can't say exactly what made it that way, maybe a combination of many things. I'm sure stress, environ…
  • In the U.S. it's called a stroller. I have barely used one with either of my children while babies or toddlers, but I've been more likely to use them while they are toddlers because they walk very slowly and are very easily distracted. I've worn m…
  • I am trying to raise them bilingual. I speak Spanish all the time, I figure I don't need to speak English as it's all around us. Sometimes I do a great job of it but sometimes I forget for awhile. I am trying to get into the habit of speaking it …
  • I tried to plan but it still didn't work out that well. I still ended up being very pregnant in the summer even though baby was born in November.
  • I haven't used one, as it can cause nipple confusion with breastfeeding and we already had trouble with that. My oldest didn't take to one and with my middle child we never tried.
